Ran Malwarebytes, Spybot, Superantispyware and Avirascan, none picked up anything installed on the machine, but Superantispyware did flag the setup.exe file as a false alert and deleted it but not anything that was installed after I clicked the exe file if that makes sense? Went into Services and the Automatic Updates services wasn't there.ĭid cntr-alt-del and looked at the processes, wuauclt.exe wasn't there. Tried to turn back on and got message saying could not be started. I double-clicked the file, nothing happened but immediately the little red shield appeared and when I clicked on that automatic updates was turned off. I have an odd one and was hoping one of you gurus could advise :smile:įirst I ran a setup.exe file which I think was a virus or trojan or whatever you call them.
